Module 2: Screening,provides an overview of screening assessments within a 3-tiered Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. An introduction to universal screening and examples of academic and behavior universal screening measures are highlighted. A review of essential components of universal screening measures, and general outcomes versus diagnostic measures are also included as guidance for selecting validated screeners. Module 3: Progress Monitoring,provides an overview of assessment within a 3-tiered, MTSS framework. The goal for this module is to strengthen educators’ knowledge and implementation of assessing and monitoring student achievement and using data to better inform instruction and intervention. Module 4: Data-Driven Decision Making and Problem-Solving Teams,focuses on the importance of maximizing the skills of a team of educators while imparting a problem-solving mindset with an understanding of data to make high-quality instructional decisions. Participants will learn to make these decisions, with an understanding of diagnostic assessments and the purpose of comprehensive evaluations in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, and behavior.
Upon completion of Cluster 2 participants will gain greater clarity in:
- screening tools in order to improve instructional decision-making
- essential components of progress monitoring measures, types of progress monitoring tools for data collection, steps for progress monitoring, and instructional decision-making.
- using assessment data more effectively to better ensure success and high achievement for allstudents.
