Speech-Language Pathology Evaluations in the COVID-19 Era



ESC-20 provides training, technical support, resources and information about speech therapy for students who have communication disorders.
 


Use of Quality Data to Drive Instruction

Important Session Information:


This course will focus on the regulatory guidance and best practices for speech-language pathology evaluations in the school setting during times of limited or uncertain access to students for face-to-face evaluations.  Various evaluation scenarios will be provided across grade levels and suspected disability types.

Session Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe regulatory guidance on evaluation procedures and timelines during school closures
  2. Discuss case studies depicting possible evaluation processes in remote learning contexts
  3. Create an evaluation plan for a student during school closures

This program has been approved for 1.5 clock hours of continuing education credit by the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (TSHA). TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
