Teachers can earn an ESC-20 micro-credential indicating demonstrated competency in various Early Childhood content areas by participating in this blended model of learning. It is our intention to develop local content area experts around the region who can then serve as a coach/mentor to other early childhood teachers in their communities. This series will incorporate multiple opportunities for learning that are:
-Personalized and self-directed
-Focused on the needs of educators, students and schools
-Competency based, and
-Job embedded and practical
In order to complete the requirements for a micro-credential, teachers must fully participate in and complete the following over the
program's duration:
- Attend the Four Part Training Series, which includes
- o· Overview of the Content Area Starter Kit (Included)
- o· Using the Planning Sheets
- o· Integration of Content: what you already do, not something new to do
- o· Content Area Standards Alignment – Prekindergarten Guidelines
- o· Coaching & Mentoring 101

2. Complete 1 Online Module
3. Actively engage in job embedded coaching and follow up with ESC consultant.
4. Participate in ongoing discussion board.
5. Document progress of application in their classroom.
6. Collaborate with peers and ESC 20 on a Community Partnership Development Project for School Readiness.
7. Commit to present findings, experience, and share best practices with colleagues and at least one
This session will take place in the form of a Zoom session. Participants must have a desktop, laptop or Chromebook in order to participate, along with an adequate internet connection.
