Virtual Counseling: Teaching and Practicing Social Skills and Personal Regulation
In this session we will discuss strategies to teach and practice social skills and personal regulation in a virtual classroom. Relevant to all age levels, we will consider various ways to craft lessons that involve multimedia material, interactive polling and surveying tools, class discussions, and simulation activities. The virtual classroom can be a great forum to present relatable situations to students, facilitate meaningful discussions, and even create scenarios where students can practice self-regulation techniques. We will also demonstrate how the SchooLinks platform can be used as a communication hub in middle and high school to roll out activities and survey students to gauge the efficacy of various SEL initiatives you may have implemented in your schools and districts.

The dangers of Alcohol Abuse, and Current Trends in Drug Abuse
In this session we will talk about the following topics:
Bexar County DWI data, DWI Law, Underage Drinking prevention, traffic safety and disturbing trends in alcohol and drug abuse.
In addition Jackie Ipina will also give a brief overview of school assembly sessions she is able to deliver as well as parent sessions she will deliver at your school.
