In 2021, all LEAs will be required to complete a district level self assessment of their special education program requiring the input of a district leadership team. This team should represent several points of view and areas of expertise in order to provide a comprehensive look at the administration and implementation of the special education program.
The participants in this training will engage in a deeper look into the LEA self-assessment, explore sources of evidence, guiding questions, compliance/strategy items, and quality levels and be able to complete the self-assessment and support ongoing LEA improvement efforts.
This 2 hour virtual session is designed to familiarize the district and charter teams with all aspects of the self-assessment process.
Teams may include: special education directors, central office staff, assessment personnel, campus administrators, special education teachers, general education teachers, related services personnel, and parents.
ESC-20 Liaisons will offer regular virtual office hours to provide continued follow-up support as your LEA works to complete and submit your self-assessment.
Once you complete your registration you will receive a confirmation email that will contain the ZOOM link and a link to access and download handouts/materials needed for the training.
A reminder email will also be sent 1-2 days prior to the scheduled training.
