This virtual session is exclusive to LEAs going through a cyclical or targeted review during the 2020-2021 school year.
Intended Audience: Special Education Director, Special Education Leadership Team Members, ARD Facilitators, Diagnosticians, LEA Transition Coordinator, LEA Behavior Coordinators, LSSPs, and staff members involved in reviewing/auditing IEP folders.
Description: This virtual session will introduce you to a Desk Review Checklist that will assist your LEA in identifying areas of noncompliance as you prepare for a TEA comprehensive desk review. In addition, we will share a systematic process that highlights areas of strength and noncompliance that will support your LEA in continuous improvement.
Items Needed: One Initial student IEP folder (actual folder, not just online IEP) and one transition student IEP folder, post-it notes, highlighter, print out of desk review checklist handout.
This virtual session is divided into 2 timeframes: 9-11:30 AM and 1-3:30 PM to allow for a virtual break and continued work session.
Upon registration completion you will receive an email confirmation that will contain the ZOOM link and link to download handouts. An email reminder will also be sent 1-2 days prior to the scheduled training.
