A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words. There are multiple ways you can use a picture to enhance language and literacy development with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. We will look at the Picture Word Induction Model (Calhoun, 1998) as a framework for using pictures as a primary strategy to develop language and literacy skills in students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
