Designated Supports for STAAR Webinar Series
The goal of this webinar series is to familiarize educators with features and supports that increase the accessibility of classroom instruction and the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) for all students. The focus will be at the elementary level however, secondary educators will find benefits in attending also.
We will discuss:
Accessibility features available to any student who regularly benefits from their use during instruction.
General information outlining the updated accommodation policies.
Specific examples for instructional and assessment usage.

Designated Supports STAAR Series: Supplemental Aids ALL subjects
Come join us to gain a solid introduction, or just to brush up and review, for allowable paper-based supplemental aids. After this session, you will feel comfortable answering questions such as, “What actually is the difference between graphic organizers and graphics?” or “What is allowable on my student’s math chart?”
2. March 4th, 2021
Designated Supports STAAR Series: STT vs TTS
Do you want to advance your knowledge of basic transcribing and oral/signed administration accommodations? After attending this session, you will have the foundational knowledge you need and an introduction to the many ways these supports may be routinely used in the classroom and in testing.
3. March 5th, 2021
Designated Supports STAAR Series: Math Manipulatives (grades 3-5)
Do you desire to deepen your own understanding of how one can routinely use math manipulatives within one’s elementary classroom to increase student success on STAAR? Do you feel comfortable with tangible math manipulatives but struggle where to start with digital manipulatives? Then this is the session for you!
