Bilingual Evaluation Procedures for Identifying Dyslexia and SLD in the FIE



ESC-20 provides resources, training and technical assistance for evaluators. Quarterly contact group meetings for LSSP’s and Educational Diagnosticians are also provided.
 


Important Session Information:


This session will explore best practices regarding the bilingual evaluation process to identify dyslexia and specific learning disability (SLD) for English Learners, with an emphasis on Spanish-speaking students. The session will include information on topics including second language acquisition, language of instruction models, indicators of speech difference/disorder, indicators of language difference/disorder, assessment practices, and interpretation and determination.
