The ESC-20 School Safety Program provides training and technical assistance to school districts in the comprehensive development of school safety programs.
The instructor will cover all necessary aspects required as part of HB 496, Bleed Control legislation, which includes tourniquet application, wound packing and chest seal application. In addition the instructor will discuss the different types of tourniquets and hemostatic agents available in the field today. After completing this class, students will be eligible to apply with BleedingControl.org as a Bleeding Control instructor as an Emergency First Responder. The instructor status will enable participants to teach the bleed control concepts and skills to students, staff and the public at large. This course will include lecture time and hands-on skill stations.
As this is an in-person session, COVID-19 pre-cautions will be required. These pre-cautions include wearing a face covering at all times, participants will be seated a minimum of six feet apart from each other, each participant will be provided with disposable gloves, and gauze, as well as their own practice tourniquet. Class size will be kept low to maintain social distancing. Please register early to reserve your spot.
