Linguistic Challenges of the General Education Classroom and Improving Accessibility for Students Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing
ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance to programs serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including assisting programs meet the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing across the continuum of placement options.

Important Session Information:
Students who are deaf or hard of hearing who receive much of their instruction in a general education classroom typically experience linguistic challenges that have a great impact on students’ abilities to make progress. In this session, linguistic challenges such as school discourse and the language of instruction will be identified, and strategies to improve linguistic access to the general education curriculum for students who are deaf and hard of hearing will be discussed.
