Dare To Leadâ„¢ 3 Day Workshop (Face-to-Face)

Instructional Services to support clients in implementing effective, research-based curriculum practices around the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

Important Session Information:

Dare to Lead ™ Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals.  Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. She is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly lists.

The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, training, and coaching to help individuals, teams, and organizations move from armored leadership to daring leadership.

Individuals who successfully complete the full 24-hour Dare to Lead program will receive a certificate of completion and are allowed to put a Dare to Lead Trained badge on their LinkedIn account.

The work is completed in an experiential workshop by watching videos of Brené, writing inside of a workbook, and discussing the work in partners and then whole group. The key thing to know is this is experiential. It will not be a presentation. It is personal development and these theories can only go as far as you are willing to take them into practice.

Dare to Lead™ work can be found on Lizzy Pérez’s website as well as more information about her works at lizzy-perez.com. Also, more information on the Dare to Lead™ training can be found on daretolead.brenebrown.com. As of today, Lizzy has had approximately 500 people attend some facets of the DTL workshop and almost 200 who have become Dare to Lead™ trained just like you will become.

This work is rooted in the following beliefs:

  • We will explicitly name race, sexual orientation, class, etc.
  • We welcome these topics into this space.
  • We will give each other permission to name these things.
  • Topics and situations will come up and they can raise fear, vulnerability and shame.
  • Not only will we receive and invite these topics into the container, we will do it with vulnerability, curiosity, permission to NOT KNOW while honoring lived experiences

As a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator, Lizzy is honored to have been trained by Brené directly and is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Brené’s incredible work with individuals and teams. This program is designed to leave participants with tactical daring skills they can put into day to day use immediately. If any of these characteristics of this workshop ring true for you and you want to increase your courage-building skills, register today.
