This is the first part of a two part session on Phonics for grades 3-5. These sessions review the work of Wiley Blevins, focusing especially on his research from A Fresh Look at Phonics. Part 1 will examine systematic and explicit phonics instruction, readiness skills, the phonics scope and sequence, and blending.
