Asynchronous Course:
Participants will learn about a targeted approach when utilizing visuals in their instructional practice. All too often we present information to students and immediately begin to ask questions and then think to ourselves, "Hmm, why are students struggling with this?" The problem is that we fail to give students proper processing time to make sense of the visual. Visual Literacy helps students by developing an awareness of the mental processes in interpreting visuals. Come and learn the See, Scan, Analyze strategy for helping students make more effective use of visual or spatial organizational tools. This session uses K-12 Science examples but applies to all contents and grade levels.
