You've heard that the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Framework is here to enhance other programs such as RTI, but how exactly does special education fit in? Attend this introductory session created by the TIER Statewide Initiative in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to find out how progress-monitoring data can inform the referral process and how MTSS data can be used as a component of student evaluation, playing a particularly large role in the evaluation of specific learning disabilities. This informative session will help clear up common misconceptions such as tiered interventions are really a funnel to special education services or Tier 3 interventions equal special education.
This session 60-minute virtual session is appropriate for general education teachers, special education teachers, administrators and anyone else interested in learning more about the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Framework.
