Important Session Information:

This 90-minute virtual session is the third of a 4-session webinar series for paraprofessionals. One may attend all four sessions in the order that they are offered or one may pick and choose between the sessions.

The working relationship that teachers and paraprofessionals form to best support and serve students is a unique one that deserves a special focus.  One of the cornerstones of a successful partnership is strong communication and understanding the requirements for confidentiality.

In this session participants will:

  • Explore different leadership styles and ways to adapt to varying teaching styles

  • Learn strategies for enhancing clear communication and collaboration with teachers

  • Discuss maintaining confidentiality including common situations that may challenge confidentiality and appropriate responses

This session will utilize the TEA-vetted documents, "Working with Paraprofessionals:  A Resource for Teachers of Students with Disabilities" and the "Working with Paraprofessionals Field Users Guide." No prior knowledge or training is required prior to attending this session.

This session is appropriate for paraprofessionals who support inclusive services and/or work within self-contained settings and general education and special education teachers who act as the supervising teacher for paraprofessionals.

Other Fall sessions offered in the paraprofessional series are listed below. We highly suggest attending all sessions.  All sessions are offered again in the Spring.
