Facilitating ARD committee meetings, acting as liaison between the parent and other IEP team members, and IEP development are three fundamental job duties for special education teachers and administrators that if not done effectively and efficiently may easily lead to difficulty in decision-making and damaged rapport at the annual ARD. Understanding, preparing and facilitating ARD meetings are the bedrock for creating strategic plans for students receiving special education services and supports in Texas. In this 90-minute virtual session we will cover everything one will need to advance one's ARD facilitation skills from novice to master of the ARD process including timely preparation, development of critical components, efficient meeting facilitation, and implementation of the next steps.
This session is appropriate for those who wish to develop knowledge of the ARD process from beginning to end, especially special education teachers tasked with case management and IEP development and administrators who serve as the administrative designee as part of the ARD committee. Please be prepared to fully engage in discussion and collaborative activities with a device that has access to camera and chat features.
We highly recommend that you consider registration in the Fall sessions below for the opportunity to expand your professional development further in related special education courses. Sessions will be repeated in the Spring.
