G/T 6 hour update - Developing Creative Capacity in the Classroom

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

Creativity in the classroom can sometimes be seen as an extra thing to do in the classroom or that it does not align with TEKS. This could not be further from the truth if we are to help our students find their natural voices. Explore ways to develop and grow your own creativity in the classroom. Learn some simple techniques, exercises, and fun activities to help encourage your G/T students to always think creatively.

This session can be taken as a 6 hour update if not previously taken. It can also take the place of either a G/T Day 3, 4, or 5.

Please bring charged technology to the session.
