ESC-20 provides resources and training opportunities for parents and families of students served within federal programs, including, but not limited to, Title I, Title III, Special Education, and Head Start.
Parents will gain knowledge on how students qualify for Section 504 and the protections it offers students in public schools. The session will provide information on the origins of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 and how they are used to protect students with disabilities from discrimination in schools. Section 504 requires that school districts provide a free appropriate public education to qualified students in their jurisdiction.
Note: This session will take place virtually, via webinar. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from Connect20 after you register that contains the zoom link to join.
This session was rescheduled from a morning session on 12/6/2022 to an afternoon session on 12/5/2022.
