G/T 6 hour update: Solving for Y: Creative Communication in the Math Classroom

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

Writing across the curriculum is all the rage, but do you ever get frustrated with getting students to write in your math class or even just share their thinking out loud? This session will help you tap into students’ creative disposition, promote critical thinking, and encourage them to bridge their schema into the content. Come learn about some clever ways to unlock potential in students speaking and writing.

This training can take the place of a G/T Day 4 or 5 for Foundational Hours.  This session can be a G/T 6 hour update if not previously taken.
