The purpose of this virtual session is to:
- Introduce the ABCs of IEP Reviews checklist to assist your LEA in identifying areas of noncompliance as you prepare for a TEA comprehensive desk review, and/or
- Develop a systematic process to build capacity within your LEA to create and maintain student IEP folders that are compliant and use best practices to improve outcomes for students receiving special education service
Intended Audience: Special Education Director, Special Education Leadership Team Members, ARD Facilitators, Diagnosticians, LEA Transition Coordinator, LEA Behavior Coordinators, LSSPs, and staff members involved in reviewing/auditing IEP folders.
Items Needed: One Initial student IEP folder (actual folder, not just online IEP) and one transition student IEP folder, post-it notes, highlighter, print out of ABCs of IEP Reviews checklist handout.
