Important Session Information:

A Step Toward IEP Quality and Rigor: Developing of Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP), Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring Methods of the Individualized Education Program for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities.

Do you struggle with knowing how to develop and write PLAAFP and IEP goals and objectives for your current students based on data sources and the 4 necessary elements? Do you want to ensure that you are writing rigorous goals that reflect high expectations that are robust, relevant, and achievable?  Do you want to feel confident that you are documenting all the ways your students with significant cognitive disabilities are progressing all year long?  Then this workshop is for you!

In this full-day in-person training, attendees will walk through the IEP Quality and Rigor Rubric developed by the Texas Complex Access Network (TX CAN) in partnership with TEA.  Upon completion of this training, attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for follow-up coaching with our Region 20 Low Incidence Disabilities Consultant and TX CAN network contact.

Once this training is complete, attendees will:

·         Understand critical components of the IEP including PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring Methods.

·         Apply the Quality & Rigor Rubric to the IEP’s PLAAFP, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring sections.

·         Create PLAAFPs, Goals/Objectives, and Progress Monitoring Methods that are rigorous and of the highest quality.

**Please be sure to bring with you or that you have access to 2-3 of your current students’ PLAAFPs and IEPs as we will reference, reflect, and assess these throughout the day.
