Come Sail Away: Leadership & the Nervous System

AIS Professional Development

Important Session Information:

You go throughout your day and deal with the demands and stress life throws at you. This is known as "smooth sailing" because you can sail throughout the day dealing with any challenges in a positive way. Dysregulation may occur when you start deviating from the smooth sailing path. You may find yourself at some point beginning to feel uncomfortable, agitated, or anxious but you’re still in control. Ideally, you want to bring yourself back into what is called the "window of tolerance" or “smooth sailing” at this point. As a leader in today’s world especially, we have experienced a pandemic which has left some of us with an overactive nervous system. Leader’s are making overall wellbeing a top priority and are searching for organizations where they, too, are placing wellness as a focus, hence The Great Resignation.

This session will explore ways to set your sails for a smooth ride throughout your day so your top leadership qualities are being harnessed. The objective is to help you identify and recognize the symptoms you experience to better support your awareness. No boat is required for smooth sailing. Come Sail Away and learn more about your autonomic nervous system so that dysregulation does not have to be a place in which you stay.
