Risky play is less about wild adventures and more about intentional explorations. Research shows risky play raises self-esteem, reduces conflict sensitivity, improves muscle strength, encourages innovative thinking, and supports decision-making skills. In this session, participants will gain an understanding of the benefits of risky play, how to support it on their campus, and how to lead a risk-benefit analysis with their students.
PDSC Member Fee: $0
This session will take place at Cibolo Nature Center and Feature speaker Jill Wood!
Plan to be outdoors for the majority of the day. We will meet rain or shine. There is no bad weather, just bad clothing/planning! (Severe weather conditions will be monitored and decisions will be made in the interest of our participants' safety.)
