Early Childhood
Master State PK Guidelines During Outdoor Play with Specific and Immediate Feedback 1

Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

Important Session Information:

Participants will understand that using outdoor intentional experiences provides opportunities to master all of the Texas State PK Guidelines. Mastering the strategy of using specific and immediate feedback when observing and understanding children's interests in the outdoors can support the construction and retention of self-regulation, executive function, and academic skills.

This session will take place at Northwood Elementary in NEISD. The physical address is: 519 Pike Rd, San Antonio TX 78209

Plan to be outdoors for the majority of the day. We will meet rain or shine. There is no bad weather, just bad clothing/planning! (Severe weather conditions will be monitored and decisions will be made in the interest of our participants' safety.)
