Are you part of an educational team of a student who is deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) who is also Deafblind (DB) or who also has additional disabilities (DeafPlus or D+)? Are you providing education or educational services in a local education agency (district or charter) that is within the boundaries the Education Service Center, Region 20 area? Would you like to have a safe and respectful place to ask questions, build your knowledge, and improve your practices? If you answered "Yes!" to these questions, then this cohort is for you! Over the school year, we will meet four times for an hour to discuss topics concerning students who are Deafblind or DeafPlus. These meetings will provide opportunities to discuss issues related to the delivery of instructional services to students who are DB or D+. Topics may include the role and responsibilities of the deaf education teacher, the teacher of the blind or visually impaired, and/or the special education teacher; legal updates; and instructional strategies and supports - including technology, disability information, caseload management, and specific issues/discussions.
***ESC, Region 20 values accessibility and will do everything possible to provide the requested accommodations; however, requests made within ten (10) business days of the event cannot be guaranteed. For questions contact: shelly.bybee@esc20.net***
