In this session, participants will define the process of creating meaningful Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) statements for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The PLAAFP is the heart of the Individual Education Plan (IEP). Strong PLAAFP statements created through multiple data sources build the foundation for a strong Individual Education Plan. A strong IEP begins with a strong PLAAFP. Participants will be able to identify multiple data sources to generate a data-based PLAAFP, to discriminate between strong and weak PLAAFP statements as well as to generate a meaningful PLAAFP.
