Explicit or direct teaching of concepts is an evidence-based practice to enhance overall development including language and literacy in students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Modeling and think-aloud practices are two ways in which explicit instruction can occur, and they can be utilized inside and outside the classroom. Join me in exploring ways to model and think our thoughts out loud to improve language and literacy skills in student who are deaf or hard of hearing.
