Establishing Instructional Engagement and Cooperation for Students with ASD
ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance for families and professionals working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in a variety of school settings.
Important Session Information:
This in-person session is intended to address the needs of students with autism who present with limited or absent tact (labeling) and mand (requesting) repertoires. The presenter will review conceptual skills and protocols necessary to establish basic skills sets. A significant focus of the session will be on the process of establishing early instructional control as well as establishing the value of social interaction. The session will cover assessment procedures, skill sequencing, and instructional program development; as well as strategies for organizing instructional materials. Specific strategies relevant to teaching across a variety of communication repertoires will be presented.
