Positive Parenting for Children With a Disability



ESC-20 provides resources and training opportunities for parents and families of students served within federal programs, including, but not limited to, Title I, Title III, Special Education, and Head Start.

Important Session Information:


Practitioners introduce parents to the seven core principles of positive parenting. These principles are:

• Ensuring a safe engaging environment.
• Creating a positive learning environment.
• Using assertive discipline.
• Having reasonable expectations.
• Looking after yourself as a parent.
• Adapting to having a child with a disability.
• Being part of the community.

This session will be delivered by Brea Delafuente, Practitioner with SA Metropolitan Health District. 

We will be providing a hybrid option for this session. If you would like to attend virtually, please register for Session ID 99551.
