Virtual: The Evaluator's Role in SPED Monitoring



ESC-20 provides training, technical assistance and resources for complying with state and federal regulations, state monitoring systems and federal funding requirements.

Important Session Information:


This workshop will focus on the critical role LSSPs, Educational Diagnosticians, and Speech-Language Pathologists play in TEA's Differentiated Monitoring and Support of their LEAs with emphasis on the cyclical monitoring and self assessment rubrics.  Participants are required to have access to at least one initial evaluation SPED folder to participate in the monitoring simulation activities.  

Session objectives:  Participants will

1. Identify specific areas of common noncompliance regarding evaluations in TEA cyclical monitoring,

2. Discuss the evaluation section of the self assessment rubric and ways evaluators can assist their LEAs in continuous improvement.

3.  Rank action statements to prioritize supporting evaluators' LEAs in cyclical monitoring and self assessment ratings.

This program has been submitted for approval of 2.5 clock hours of continuing education credit by the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (TSHA). TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
