Learning Offsite: Nature Connection: Using Native Plants to Meet State Outcomes

Learning Off Site sessions will occur outside the walls of ESC-20. These sessions are facilitated with community partners and may be conducted at a number of off site locations and in a variety of content areas.

Important Session Information:

This session has been edited to be a Pilot opportunity. It is a 1/2 day.

The environment is the third teacher and often student engagement is increased when students feel a strong sense of belonging and contribution to their classroom. Outdoor learning is no different. In this session, participants will learn how to develop a sense of belonging in the outdoors through a closer look at Native Plants and foster student ownership for outdoor learning environments. Participants will leave with an understanding of the benefits of building a reciprocal relationship between student and nature that will lead to rigorous and vigorous outdoor learning.

1/2 Day will take place at Westwood Terrace in Northside ISD

Elevate20 Members attend at NO COST!

Plan to be outdoors for the majority of the day. We will meet rain or shine. (Severe weather conditions will be monitored and decisions will be made in the interest of our participants' safety.)
