Target Audience: School staff

This session will highlight the various forms of trauma and the common responses a child may develop as a result of experiencing a traumatic event. Participants will learn the common signs and responses of child behavior, and how we can help them cope effectively in the classroom. We will also cover how vicarious and secondary trauma can impact your role as a provider. The session will cover different strategies to utilize for oneself and with your students, as well as identifying resources available for ongoing support.

This session is presented by Brandalyn Haggerty, Mental Health Education Liaison from The Center for Health Care Services in partnership with ESC Region 20.
