Important Session Information:


Target Audience: Adults working with individuals 18+ y/o

Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is designed for adults in all positions including family members, friends, coworkers, peers, professionals, neighbors, and other caring citizens how to help another adult (18+) who may be experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.

-MHFA is skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge.

-Similar to physical First Aid and CPR, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved.

-Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-step Action Plan to recognize warning signs of a mental health or substance use challenge, provide help in crisis and non-crisis situations and understand where to turn for additional assistance.

This session is virtual and presented by Brandalyn Haggerty, Mental Health Education Liaison from The Center for Health Care Services in partnership with ESC Region 20. The course will be conducted from 08:30-03:30 PM with a one hour lunch break. You will receive an email from Connect20 confirming your registration; please be sure to check your spam/junk email. This session will be hosted in person at ESC-20 and presented by a representative from ESC-20 and Center for Health Care Services.
