Virtual: Human Trafficking: Training for Healthcare Personnel in the School Setting



ESC-20 provides resources, training and technical assistance for evaluators. Quarterly contact group meetings for LSSP’s and Educational Diagnosticians are also provided.
 


Important Session Information:


No partial credit will be provided.  Participants must attend the full course in order to receive credit.  You must be registered by 11:59 p.m. on 6/13/2024 to receive the registration link.

This state-approved training provides school-based personnel with relevant information regarding human trafficking prevention and meets the requirements for license renewal from the State of Texas through the following boards:  Board of Nursing, State Board of Examiners of Psychologists/Behavioral Health Executive Council, Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners, Health and Human Services/Behavioral Health Executive Council, and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.  Specifically, we will address definitions, risk factors, trafficker profiles and techniques, implications for the school setting, and prevention.  School-based scenarios will be explored to highlight the concepts presented.  
 
Learning Objectives:
1.            Define human trafficking and its subtypes and contrast it with smuggling and prostitution.
2.            Identify factors likely to place students at risk for human trafficking. 
3.            Describe profiles of human traffickers and their techniques.
