ESC-20 provides professional development and technical assistance to support educators with implementation of the Social Studies TEKS, analyze data to enhance instructional practices to meet the needs of students, and provides targeted support to reach campus and district goals.

Important Session Information:


Through interactive discussions and case studies, attendees will examine how civic education cultivates the capacity to analyze diverse perspectives, discern biases, and synthesize information from various sources. Moreover, the session will highlight practical strategies and best practices for integrating critical thinking pedagogies into civic education curricula across different educational settings.

Learn how civic education cultivates critical thinking skills, enabling individuals to analyze complex issues, evaluate sources of information, and make informed decisions as active participants in democratic processes.

This session was designed for 6-12 Social Studies teachers.
