In this session, we will explore the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Principles of Professional Ethics.
The session is intended for Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSPs) or School Psychologists (SPs) who require continuing education credits for licensing purposes.
The purpose of the Principles is to protect the public and those who receive school psychological services by sensitizing school psychologists to the ethical aspects of their work, educating them about appropriate conduct, helping them monitor their own behavior, and providing standards to be used in the resolution of complaints of unethical conduct.
Additionally, LSSPs will utilize the NASP Ethical Problem-Solving Worksheet. This worksheet was designed to help school psychologists organize and document their process in arriving at decisions in challenging situations. By engaging in an intentional and thorough process, school psychologists can be confident that their decisions are based on sound, ethical reasoning.
