Leadership Effectiveness

Important Session Information:

Cancelled:  Design Thinking is an approach to identifying opportunities to improve. This session will focus communicating the principles of design thinking to special education learders to use in improving their programs. This process is repeatable, inclusive and dynamic and can be an excellent tool to begin implementing change in the complex world where systems, teachers, students, leaders and resources make the barriers to change difficult to identify.

This three hour session will introduce the design thinking process and discuss the kinds of issues relevant to the special education realm that could be addressed in this way. The participant will leave with tools to begin to address those high leverage issues and an idea of the support ESC 20 special education liaisons could provide when starting the hard work of change management.

There is a seperate session on the Four Disciplines of Execution (Session # 90433) in the afternoon which is designed to provide the same manner of overview and support with regard to this process of managing the changes in human behavior that need to be monitored as the product or process identified in Design Thinking is implemented. Please consider attending this session as well.
