Cancelled: This session is designed to introduce the principles of Covey's 4 Disciplines of Execution. The focus will be the special education arena as we look at a framework for implementing the wildly important changes to your program that seem so difficult to keep on track in the midst of everything else that is on our plate. Not only is management struggling to find time to monitor new processes or product implementation, but the people whose behavior has to change in order to create change, their plates are overflowing as well.
Covey's 4 Disciplines of Execution provides guidance in getting all the players engaged, participating and tracking the effectiveness of whatever this wildly important goal may be. This gives leadership the ability to "see" the barriers, change course if needed, and provide appropriate support or resources in order to change behavior and improve results. This is hard work and these principles should provide a road map, in addition, the support available from the ESC 20 special education liaisons will be explained to understand our role if you want assistance in addressing this wildly important change.
There is a morning session on Design Thinking (Session # 90431) which can be a precursor to the change management process. Design Thinking emphasizes developing the capacity to identify issues within your program and developing the process and product that will provide the improvement you seek. The implementation of the process or product devloped in Design thinking may be the change you are implementing using the 4 disciplines. Please consider signing up for this session as well.
